Postpartum Support International
Postpartum Support International (PSI) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote awareness, prevention and treatment of pregnancy and postpartum mental health worldwide. PSI provides direct support to pregnant and postpartum people and families, training to professionals and volunteers, and a bridge to connect with each other. Our universal motto is: You are not alone, you are not to blame, and with help you will get well.
What is the structure of the meeting?
Our groups are 90 minutes (1.5 hours) in length. The first ~30 minutes is providing information, education, and establishing group guidelines. The next ~60 minutes is “talk time,” in which group members share and talk with each other. You will not be allowed to enter group once talk time begins so we can keep it a confidential space. Our groups are based on a peer-to-peer support model, so this is not a therapy session. Group members must be present for the group guidelines before joining in the discussion or “talk time,” so that all group members understand the expectations of group.
***If you miss three meetings or more without canceling beforehand, we may remove you from groups you are registered for. We often have a waitlist, so it is important to cancel so others can have a spot to receive support.***
Who is invited to the meeting? Anyone who is having symptoms of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders are welcome. We also provide support to those experiencing fertility challenges, pregnancy or infant loss, and post-termination support. Check out each group listing for a full description. Our groups are not for those having a medical or mental health crisis. Please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline if you need emergency/crisis assistance: 800-273-8255
Will I have to talk about my experience? We do require that everyone provides a short introduction. After that, no one in the group is required to talk. Some group members prefer to listen. But remember, your experience and insight are valuable and could help someone else in the room. Do what’s best for you.

AnyaTermination for Medical Reasons (TFMR) What to tell family/friends. First period after loss. Milk comes in. Anxiety. Wonder what the cause of the loss is... and if will it happen again. How do I even think about being pregnant again. Healing. Breathing. You are not alone. This does get better.Peer Supporter
