Free support for families experiencing perinatal depression or anxiety (PPD/PPA)
Supporting Mamas is a peer-run, peer-focused 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide information, resources, support and hope to women and families coping with pregnancy and postpartum anxiety and mood disorders and to the professionals who serve them.
-
Empowerment
We strive to find ways to empower families to live a better life for themselves. -
Community
We complement the existing resources and collaborate with other agencies and partners in our community. -
Advocacy
We listen, anticipate and respond to the changing needs of families in our community. -
Non-judgmental support
We provide support to all families regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, background, religion or philosophy.
We ask that all members review the following guidelines before attending groups:
- Be kind, respectful, nonjudgmental and understanding of one another.
- Actively listen & have in mind that everyone deals with their own parenting challenges differently.
- The Supporting Mamas community is not a space for emergency medical support. Please contact a helpline or your local emergency services if you feel you are in a high risk situation.
- This is a space for peer-to-peer and emotional support. The community does not replace the relationship or advice given by your therapist or psychiatrist.
- Supporting Mamas offers a broad range of helpful treatment resources for anxiety/depression in pregnancy and postpartum. All free! Visit the Supporting Mamas website today to learn more: www.supportingmamas.org
- Let's focus on individual mental health experiences rather than political topics/differences.
- This community should not be used for commercial or personal promotion. No selling, fundraising or spam.
