Let Me Sit With You is a one-on-one peer-support session for people living with OCD, intrusive thoughts, intense uncertainty, or compulsions that others may not see or understand. Sometimes you do not need someone to fix the thought, argue with it, or tell you to “just stop thinking about it.” You may need someone who can sit beside you in the discomfort, listen without judgment, and help you feel less alone while you make sense of what is happening. This may be especially helpful if your OCD involves harm, taboo or sexual themes, false memories, morality, relationships, identity, health, responsibility, or fears that make you question who you are. You will never be required to share the exact content of an intrusive thought. You can speak generally, focus on the emotions and compulsions surrounding it, or simply talk about how OCD is affecting your life. We may explore rumination, reassurance seeking, researching, confession, avoidance, mental checking, reviewing memories, monitoring thoughts or bodily reactions, and the pressure to find complete certainty. We can also discuss how to ask others for support, identify what your OCD cycle looks like, reduce shame, and find ways to respond with more patience and self-compassion. My approach is grounded in lived experience. I understand how real an intrusive thought can feel and how frightening it is when OCD targets your morals, relationships, identity, or sense of safety. I will not treat you as the content of your thoughts or pressure you to disclose more than feels safe. This is not a session for providing perfect reassurance or proving that a feared outcome is impossible. It is a space where you can be heard, supported, and reminded that you do not have to carry the uncertainty by yourself. This service offers peer support and shared lived experience. It does not provide diagnosis, therapy, ERP, medical advice, risk assessment, crisis intervention, or emergency care.

About The Host

My name is Cassian, and I am a Certified Peer Specialist with lived experience navigating complex mental health challenges and building a life that feels stable, meaningful, and worth living. A major focus of my peer-support work is helping people who live with Cluster B disorders or traits, especially BPD attachment patterns, favorite-person dynamics, fear of abandonment, splitting, emotional intensity, and relationship instability. I understand how these experiences can affect your sense of safety, identity, and connection with others. I believe in accountability without shame and in helping people recognize harmful patterns without reducing themselves to those patterns. I am also especially interested in supporting people with OCD, including harm OCD and pedophilia-themed OCD. I understand how frightening, isolating, and shame-filled taboo intrusive thoughts can be, particularly when people confuse unwanted thoughts with intent or character. My goal is to offer a nonjudgmental space where people can talk honestly about their experiences without being treated as dangerous or immoral. I also have lived experience with chronic illness, disability, LGBTQIA+ identity, and polyamorous or ethically non-monogamous relationships. I identify as a queer, pansexual trans man. Psychology is one of my special interests, so I bring both personal experience and extensive self-education to my work while remaining clear that peer support is not therapy or diagnosis. I am passionate, direct, and compassionate. I want people to feel understood without being enabled, supported without being controlled, and reminded that healing does not require becoming perfect.
