About this meeting
Been feeling down or stressed lately? Join me for a monthly session of Laughter Yoga, where participants can experience self-loving breathwork and engage in joyful, childlike laughter!
Laughter Yoga is a real intervention, concept, and exercise created and developed by Dr. Madan Kataria, a medical doctor who held the first Laughter Yoga session in a park with five other people. Since then, it has been researched, studied, and proven to temporarily provide relief for those with depression, anxiety, and other stressors, as well as those affected by certain health conditions. For more information on Laughter Yoga, please contact me directly.
Disclaimer: While it is a therapeutic intervention, it is not intended to replace medical services. Always consult your physician before participating if you have any medical concerns.
About the host
Hi there! It’s so lovely to meet you. My name is Kimberly, but most people call me Kim. I am a mental health advocate, activist, and a Certified Peer and Family Specialist.
From as young as I can remember, I knew I wanted to help people. I worked in retail for the better part of my life and loved the connections that I built, but hated the pressure of selling to people. It was when I was diagnosed with my mental health conditions that I knew what I wanted to do.
As someone with their own lived experience with mental health challenges and trauma, I have sought to connect with others, deepening my empathy and compassion for those who feel like they don’t fit in with society. I am deeply invested in engaging in the fight against stigma and shame, and believe healthcare and social support should be accessible to everyone, no matter where they come from.
In addition to my work as a peer specialist, I am also a Certified QPR Suicide Prevention Instructor, a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, and an Intentional Peer Support trainer. I am also very passionate about social causes and justice, human rights, and equity and inclusivity.

Motivation for help
My motivation comes from a desire to support those who have gone through times of hopelessness, doubt, and alienation due to stigma around mental health conditions. I have a big heart for those who are survivors of abuse, oppression, and those who wrestle with self-acceptance and self-compassion.
I live my life by a quote by Ayesha Siddiqi, "Be the person you needed when you were younger."
