About this meeting
Are you assisting in caregiving for someone with Huntington's Disease? Does it seem overwhelming at times? Frustrating? Supportive? A mix of all kinds of emotions? You are not alone! We also know how many roles and responsibilities caregivers have whether it is in person meeting physical needs, helping from afar, or simply thinking and planning for future needs or possibilities. Being a caregiver can consume physical, mental, and emotional energy. This group will focus on sharing the experience of being a non-partner caregiver as well as learning from one another to help support ourselves in the best way that we can.

About the host
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working in various fields of Social Work since 2007. I have a background working within medical settings, with at-risk teens in residential facility settings, and within Hospice and Home Health Care. I currently have a private practice licensed in Idaho (www.refinedllc.net) and contract with the Huntington's Disease Society of America as one of their HDSA Social Workers. I have led a variety of groups of all ages and particularly have interest in grief and loss, adjustment, chronic disease, and coping support. I believe in the power of shared experience and helping others make connections that speak to the truth that you are not alone and there are others who can identify with similar feelings and experiences you have.
