About this meeting
A virtual support group meeting for anyone who struggles with clutter, disorganization, or letting go of things — no judgment, no pressure, no perfectly organized people telling you what to do. This is a judgment-free, shame-free space for people who relate to being a pack rat, struggle with chronic disorganization, or feel overwhelmed by the stuff in their lives. Whether your clutter fills one corner or an entire home, whether this has been lifelong or something new — you belong here.
In this group, we’ll:
∙ Share what is overwhelming us
∙ Celebrate small wins without pressure to have it all figured out
∙ Offer each other compassion and genuine understanding
∙ Explore the emotional side of disorganization — anxiety, grief, ADHD, perfectionism, and more.
This is a place to vent, connect, and be understood by people who genuinely get it. Whether you’re drowning in sentimental items, can’t seem to find a system that sticks, or just need someone to say “me too” — you’ve found your people. This is NOT a productivity class. No one will tell you to just “declutter” or hand you a 30-day challenge. This is peer support — meaning we sit in community and witness each other as we are. We get to evolve at our own pace and time.
Who this is for: People who feel overwhelmed by clutter, identify as pack rats, have been told they “have too much stuff,” or simply feel like they can’t get organized no matter how hard they try. If you’ve ever wondered ‘am I a hoarder?’ or if you or just have a habit of squirrelling things away (this is me), or keep buying things you don’t really need come and meet people who can relate.
What this space is NOT:
∙ A place for unsolicited advice or “just throw it out” comments
∙ A minimalism fan club
∙Anywhere you’ll be made to feel lazy or hopeless, we get it and you’re in good company. Come exactly as you are. Your mess, your story, and your heart are welcome here. Everyone here is working through their own relationship with stuff — at their own pace, in their own way.
This group typically meets weekly on Tuesday 4:30pm PT/7:30PM ET
About the host
I’m a certified peer support specialist and coach living in Southern California, I host support groups meetings on HeyPeers and also work one-on-one helping support peers with BFRB recovery and recovery from other compulsive behaviors, habits and unhelpful thoughts. I identify as a neurodivergent woman and mother with ADHD, PMDD, and sensory differences. Since 2020 I’ve been in recovery from skin picking disorder (also known as dermatillomania and excoriation disorder). I’ve since learned that this compulsive habit is called BFRB - Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors. I believe in the power of community and have been attending various types of support groups since 2017. In my free time I like to craft with yarn and spend time outdoors hiking while looking for pretty rocks.
Motivation for help
After 4 years of successful recovery I knew I had enough recovery experience to be a helpful support for others struggling with compulsive habits. I decided to completed the training and testing to get my peer support certification, so I can be a productive helper from a place of lived experience. I’ve embraced my sensory needs and learned tools and strategies to stay recovered, and I love holding space for others to find their own healing and recovery.
I’m inspired to share my message of hope for the possibility of a better future by facilitating groups and holding space for one-on-one support, as well as offering encouragement and accountability.
