About the host
Hello! I'm a software developer and animal lover. I started coming to NAMI Connections meetings in 2022 after a divorce, and loved the sense of community. I just think it's amazing to see people from diverse backgrounds come together to share common experiences and support each other. In 2024 I went through facilitator training to help ensure our group runs consistently for anyone who needs it. Whether you're a regular or this is your first Connections meeting, we're happy to have you here. Please feel welcome to message me if you have any questions about our group! (or you need some cool bug facts)

NAMI Minnesota champions justice, dignity and respect for all people affected by mental illnesses. Through education, support and advocacy we strive to eliminate the pervasive stigma of mental illnesses, affect positive changes in the mental health system, and increase the public and professional understanding of mental illnesses.

NAMI Minnesota offers many support groups for adults living with mental illnesses and their families. Our free support groups are led by trained volunteers with lived experience. Support groups provide a welcoming, respectful, and safe space to build awareness and understanding while learning from and connecting with others.  The two main populations we serve are adults living with mental illnesses and adults with loved ones who are living with mental illnesses.
