About this meeting
A peer support space for people navigating the loss of someone to suicide. Come as you are, whether the loss was recent or years ago. There is room here for grief, anger, relief, confusion, unanswered questions, complicated relationships, and the many emotions that can exist together after suicide loss.
No pressure to share more than you're comfortable sharing. You are welcome to talk, listen, or simply be present with others who understand that suicide grief doesn't always fit neatly into traditional conversations about loss.
This is a peer support group, not therapy or crisis intervention. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a current suicidal crisis, please call or text 988 or contact local emergency support.

About the host
✦ HEY YA'LL, I'M STARLITA! YOU CAN CALL ME STAR ✦ I'm a Nebraska State Certified Peer Support Specialist and Nebraska Office of Dispute Resolution (ODR) Approved Parenting Act Mediator, with training in Basic and Parenting Act Mediation. I'm also a mom of four, a partner, and someone who has lived through many complicated seasons of life. ◆ MY LIVED EXPERIENCES ◆ My lived experience includes an ACE score of 10, complex trauma, dissociation, self-harm, substance misuse, assault survival, domestic violence (both childhood and adult relationships), juvenile placements, inpatient and partial treatment programs, blended family dynamics, co/parallel parenting challenges, postpartum anxiety, chronic illness and pain, nervous system dysregulation, and body image struggles, especially following major pre- and post-operative changes. I've experienced the long, messy process of rebuilding a life outside of survival mode. I'm currently navigating another season of change following the suicide of my ex-husband, the father of my two oldest children. Through these experiences, I've learned that healing, grief, growth, and rebuilding rarely follow a straight line. We don't have to navigate these seasons alone. Over the years, I've also navigated therapy systems, IEPs, parenting children with diverse emotional and behavioral needs, family conflict, caregiving stress, and the emotional isolation that can come with living in rural communities. ◆ MY APPROACH TO PEER SUPPORT ◆ My approach is person-centered, family-aware, and trauma-informed, grounded in the belief that people are more than their diagnoses, labels, or hardest moments. My mediation background also informs how I approach communication, conflict, different perspectives, and navigating difficult decisions while respecting each person's autonomy. I'm passionate about meeting people where they are, walking alongside them at their pace, and offering support in the ways that feel most helpful during their current season. Together, we can explore experiences, perspectives, possibilities, and next steps without pressure to have everything figured out. Peer support is not therapy, clinical treatment, legal advice, or mediation. It's an opportunity to connect with someone who brings lived experience, compassion, curiosity, and a willingness to listen, reflect, and explore alongside you. ◆ RE5IVE: MY PERSONAL FRAMEWORK ◆ Much of my work is rooted in the Re5ive framework I created through my own recovery journey: Rest • Regulate • Reflect • Reframe • Reset. A practical, nervous-system-aware approach focused on awareness, regulation, self-compassion, and sustainable growth through difficult seasons of life. ◆ QUESTIONS, SCHEDULING & FINANCIAL ACCESSIBILITY ◆ If you have questions, need support on days or at times outside my listed availability, or are navigating financial or budget challenges, I invite you to reach out. I understand that life, schedules, and finances don't always fit neatly into a booking calendar. I'm flexible when possible, and I don't want these barriers to prevent you from seeking support. We can explore scheduling, sliding-scale pricing, or other support options together. My goal is to meet you where you are, walk alongside you at your pace, and help you find support that feels accessible and meaningful in this season. ◆ OUTSIDE OF PEER SUPPORT ◆ I love writing, reading, art, music, being outdoors, and spending time with my kids and partner.
Motivation for help
My motivation comes from knowing how powerful it is to have someone walk alongside you and meet you where you are in a season of life-not where others expect you to be. ✦ Through my own experiences with trauma, chronic illness, parenting, blended family dynamics, recovery, and rebuilding after difficult seasons, I learned the value of validation, grounding, and compassionate curiosity-for others and myself. ✦ My goal is to help people reconnect with their body, rediscover their strengths, build support systems and practical tools for real life. To feel less alone while navigating hard seasons.
