About this meeting
Tired of the neurotypical beat? Same.
Motley Minds is a weekly neurodivergent support group for autistic adults, ADHDers, and anyone else living somewhere on the neuro-tribe spectrum. Neurodivergence can come with isolation, stigma, misunderstanding, and that constant “I’m out of sync with the world” feeling.
Here, you can expect a respectful room to vent about the hard, celebrate the good, show up as your whole damn self, and get relief from feeling like you’re doing existence “wrong.”
All genders, cultures, sexualities, and backgrounds are welcome. No diagnosis necessary! Self-diagnosed, questioning, and late-realized folks can absolutely come take a seat.
What we can get into:
- Belonging, social isolation, and finding your people
- Self-worth, stigma, and the stories we’ve absorbed about ourselves
- Practical life stuff like routines, executive function, goals, and making things doable
- Identity, culture, and LGBTQ+ overlap in neurodivergent life
- Special interests, creativity, and what lights your brain up (books, art, music, media, etc.)
Every mind is a masterpiece, even when it feels like a mess. This is where weird wins.
About the host
My brain's… a lot. If yours is too, you're in good company!
At my core, I'm a punkish creative & introspective nerd type. Hence why I get along with misfits so well. But I've spent most of my life feeling out of step—too much, not enough, and under a dark cloud I couldn't name. In my 30s I discovered I'm autistic with a side helping of ADHD. That was on top of a long history of anxiety, anorexia, trauma, and depression telling me I'm garbage. Footnote: I'm not, and you're probably not either.
Life's thrown me its share of UGH and I've spent a lot of time learning to stop hating my brain. Still kind of a love/hate relationship, actually. But progress is progress.
On paper, I’m a Certified Peer Support Specialist with ongoing training and all that. In practice, I’m just someone who’s been through a lot of the same mental health mess and sits in it with you.
Motivation for help
I needed support once, and no one was there. I never want anyone to feel as alone as I was. That's it. I want to shrink down the scariness we all face and remind people they're not as isolated in those feelings as they think.
All the years I lost to depression and self-destruction—I can't get those back. But I can make them mean something by showing up for people going through their own version of it.
I'm in your corner. Because, damn, somebody has to be.
