About this meeting
This group is for those who have experienced harm from mental health treatment. A few examples are adverse effects from psychiatric medications, harm from psychiatric hospitalization or interactions with EMS, and harm from psychotherapy. There will be space to talk about the harms we've experienced, recovery, how these experiences have affected our lives, and how to cope.

About the host
Fin Hirschoff holds a CPSRP certification from the state of CT. He has advanced training in Intentional Peer Support (IPS), and facilitating Alternatives to Suicide groups. He first worked in a peer support role in 2001, when he was a peer counselor for fellow college students. He got his peer support certification in early 2025. He is trained in Intentional Peer Support, active listening, and supporting voice hearers. He has lived experience with anxiety, depression, hypomania, mania, psychosis, trauma (chronic and acute), and substance abuse, and he is part of the LGBTQ+ community. He has experienced both great harm and benefits from psychiatric treatments, and is a psychiatric survivor. When he's not working as a CPSRP, he is an educator, farmer, and enjoys cooking, messing with computers, music, and art.
Motivation for help
After I lost 13 years of my life to adverse events from psychiatric medications, and had gone through everything that happened during those years, I knew once I recovered that I wanted to use my experiences to help others who are struggling like I did for so long, whatever the cause of the symptoms.
