About this meeting
A place for the left out, the chronically out-of-place, and the hard-to-categorize among us who’ve spent a long time on the outside looking in. Maybe you’re the weird one, the eccentric, the introvert, lean alternative, or live on a completely different wavelength than the people around you. Maybe chronic loneliness, social anxiety, or the exhaustion of masking has made ordinary socializing feel impossible. We talk about the realities of persistent disconnection, shifting identity, making and keeping friends, and figuring out what belonging actually looks like when vanilla social circles don't work for you. Loud brains, quiet brains, burnt-out brains, “my brain is doing a crime” brains are all welcome. You don’t have to become less strange to take up space here.

About the host
My brain's… a lot. If yours is too, you're in good company! At my core, I'm a punkish creative & introspective nerd type. Hence why I get along with misfits so well. But I've spent most of my life feeling out of step—too much, not enough, and under a dark cloud I couldn't name. In my 30s I discovered I'm autistic with a side helping of ADHD. That was on top of a long history of anxiety, anorexia, trauma, and depression telling me I'm garbage. Footnote: I'm not, and you're probably not either. Life's thrown me its share of UGH and I've spent a lot of time learning to stop hating my brain. Still kind of a love/hate relationship, actually. But progress is progress. On paper, I’m a Certified Peer Support Specialist with ongoing training and all that. In practice, I’m just someone who’s been through a lot of the same mental health mess and sits in it with you.
Motivation for help
I needed support once, and no one was there. I never want anyone to feel as alone as I was. That's it. I want to shrink down the scariness we all face and remind people they're not as isolated in those feelings as they think. All the years I lost to depression and self-destruction—I can't get those back. But I can make them mean something by showing up for people going through their own version of it. I'm in your corner. Because, damn, somebody has to be.
