About Lisa
Hi. I am a parent of an adult child with a diagnosis of BP1 with Mania and Psychotic features. I know how traumatizing all the pieces to this relationship can be. We, as caregivers, deserve a place where others may know how we feel and can offer support and confidentiality in your journey. I hope to help others reestablish a "New Normal," by developing dual boundaries and recognizing "triggers" in the relationship. I am a certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist. My heart has always been in lending support and my lived experience is what has truly inspiring me. You do not have to go through this journey alone. My Recovery Story
I have a medical diagnosis of depression. I have lived with this most of my life. At this point, my medication is effective. I see my own therapist once a month and I meet with my son‘s therapist and he every few months. I am blessed that my son has chosen to involve me in his recovery. He too is currently med compliant, holds down a career and has his own place at the age of 32. I am forever here for him and that makes my own recovery an easier journey.
My Motivation To Help
I am motivated to try and maintain a healthy and balanced relationship with my child. When I realized that a mutual set of boundaries was our road to success my life changed completely.
