About Daniel

I am a recovered meth addict who also struggled with depression and mental health issues. I live in the woods in Wyoming and I love outdoor/survival situations. I am 9 years clean from meth and two years in recovery for my mental health. I am married and have five children and two granddaughters. I believe that everyone can heal from traumas and addiction and I want to help those that are wanting a different way of life. My life for the last 9 years has been amazing and crazy but so much better than the 16 years before recovery.

My Recovery Story

After 16 years of drug use, I found myself looking at a prison sentence of 27 years. I asked for help instead of prison and was blessed with the chance to learn a new way of living. I went through a treatment program that helped me identify my character defects and helped me to work on them and find true freedom. I have worked in a treatment center for 3 years now and have expanded my desire to help even more people with my lived experience. For the last 9 years my life has been amazing. Difficult but amazing and better than I could have imagined when I was in active addiction and suffering from mental health issues.

My Motivation To Help

I am grateful to be a peer supporter because I have struggled with mental health and addiction and found freedom. Nearly 10 years ago I planned a suicide because my life had gotten so out of control I didn't see a way out. Thankfully I had others around me that could see that I was in need of help and they wrapped themselves around me until I could find the help I needed connecting with others with similar problems.
