About Kate
Hi, I’m Kate — a yoga teacher, peer support professional, and advocate for healing through connection, self-awareness, and nervous system-informed care. My work is deeply rooted in lived experience. I navigate chronic illness, dysautonomia, hypermobility, and the realities of learning how to work with my body instead of against it. Through both personal experience and professional support work, I understand the emotional and physical impact that chronic illness, burnout, trauma, and substance use recovery can have on daily life. I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training with a focus on accessible, intentional movement and creating spaces where people feel safe showing up exactly as they are. My classes emphasize nervous system regulation, gentle strength-building, mindfulness, and sustainable self-care over perfection or performance. In addition to teaching yoga, I work in peer support and recovery spaces supporting individuals navigating substance use recovery, mental health challenges, and life transitions. I believe healing happens in community, and that recovery is not one-size-fits-all. My goal is to help others reconnect with themselves, build trust in their bodies, and create lives they don’t have to constantly recover from.
My Recovery Story
I am actively engaged in my own ongoing recovery and wellness journey, including maintaining sobriety, prioritizing mental health, and learning to navigate chronic illness in a sustainable way. My lived experience allows me to connect with others from a place of empathy, understanding, and authenticity while continuing to grow personally and professionally alongside the communities I support.
My Motivation To Help
Through my own experiences with chronic illness, nervous system dysregulation, mental health challenges, and recovery spaces, I’ve learned how important it is to have supportive, nonjudgmental communities where people can show up authentically. My goal is to create accessible spaces that combine mindfulness, movement, peer support, and real-life understanding — helping others reconnect with their bodies, build self-trust, and find sustainable ways to care for themselves. I believe healing is not about perfection, but about learning how to work with ourselves compassionately and intentionally.
