About Majesta

I am a doctoral-level professional and lifelong learner who understands that academic and professional success do not offer immunity from mental health struggles. My own journey involves a lifetime history of navigating severe depression and the behavioral health system—both within the clinical 'machine' and through independent resilience. Because I have maintained a trajectory of high-level education and leadership while managing these internal battles, I offer a unique perspective for those struggling in rigorous or high-pressure environments. My approach is built on a foundation of radical honesty and clinical ethics, balanced with the deep empathy only lived experience can provide. I specialize in helping clients bridge the gap between their internal reality and the external demands of their lives, providing the accountability needed to traverse systemic barriers and personal shadows alike.

My Recovery Story

For me, recovery is not the complete absence of depression; it is the mastery of managing it as a lifelong journey. I understand that mental health isn't a straight line, and I have learned to navigate those seasons where the 'work machine' or external pressures create friction. The entire landscape of my life has changed: I have moved from a place of self-deficiency to a place of deep, internal value. Even in the moments where self-doubt or low mood resurface, I am an active participant in my wellness, utilizing a robust toolkit of professional support and self-advocacy. I offer my peers the perspective of someone who isn't just 'past' the struggle, but someone who successfully manages it every day with stability, honesty, and a level of self-worth that took a decade to build.

My Motivation To Help

For most of my life, I was 'too successful' for anyone to realize I was struggling—including myself. I didn't just meet the pressure to perform; I exceeded it, earning advanced degrees and building a career while navigating a deep, internal depression. Because I was so high-functioning, I believed my internal battles were a personal deficiency rather than a health challenge. Even exceeding every expectation was never enough to quiet the shadow. The turning point was finding spaces 'behind closed doors' where I could finally take off the mask of the high-achiever and speak honestly with others who understood. I realized then that there is a massive gap in our system for people who are 'crushing it' on the outside while battling on the inside. I want to be the guide I never had: someone who respects your drive and your intellect, understands the complexity of the systems you work in, and has the lived experience to help you navigate the shadows that success can’t reach.
