About Patricia
Hey Peers! I am a peer with lived experience with mental health and substance use co occurring disorders in recovery, as well as system navigation with the Justice System re-entry. I became a Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist after finding my calling working with those living with mental health and substance use. I went on to become a Registered Alcohol and Drug Tech, and currently work for Peer Voices United as a Community Health worker Case Manager, where I currently serve the justice system involved population.
My Recovery Story
My experience is a life long discovery. I advocated for myself and in that journey I found others just like me. Knowing there are others really made me learn to accept myself and since then I have began my career change and focus in these avenues. It has brought me to a very rewarding quality of life that I had never thought would. My voice is heard and in that discovery I have realized my story supports others in their journey.
My Motivation To Help
My motivation is to share my lived experience, professional education and work experience that will hopefully support others in their journey of self discovery and acceptance while providing resources from a peer perspective.
