About the host
Hello, my name is Jessica. I have been facilitating groups with Project return peer support network for about 3 years now. To be able to hold space for others in need is my passion. No one should have to face trying times alone, from personal experiences I know that together we can heal.

I don't know what I'd do without the support from Jess and the ladies in this group <3

I was disappointed with this meeting. Jess never turned her camera on and most participants didn't either. Other meetings on HeyPeers usually have cameras on so that people can better connect with each other. A big part of communicating and showing empathy and support is through nonverbal communications - there was none of that here. Other meetings also usually open before the scheduled start time to allow particpants to informally begin to connect - this meeting opened at the scheduled time but didn't begin until 5 minutes after with just dead air - not very welcoming or comfortable. The first person who "shared" put a YouTube video up with any explaination. I'm glad that PRPSN is trying to help people with grief but this particular meeting could be much improved.

Group leader was great.gave room for people to share their experiences.was vulnerable in sharing her own so she was relatable and that made it more comfortable to have conversation.first time participant so i was listening more than anything.first impressions are good.

Jess is such a compassionate host who holds space for members trying to heal from various forms of grief. She tries to vet those who aren't attending her groups for the purpose of recovery, but she can only do so much to maintain safety. I really wish the administrators of this platform would implement better safeguards against observation that were aligned with Ethical Observations in Research and enforce guidelines against people attending groups for observational purposes while members are here trying to heal. The psychological impacts of being observed for any reason without consent is extremely harmful, and observers completely disrupt the healing process! It's really unfair to allow student observers to continuously take advantage of unsuspecting members of this community

Jess allowed everyone who wanted to share have as much time as they wanted. There were more people than usual who didn't want to share, but there was no pressure or judgement. Maybe they will feel like sharing next week. Thank you Jess and you will be in my thoughts on Sunday.

This seemed to be a rough week for everyone. There were a lot of difficult stories and it only made me realize that it is where I am supposed to be to help me through my grief. I get a lot of support by just sharing my issues and getting them off of my chest. There is usually not any responses to someone's sharing, but just having a place to vent without judgement is helpful.

There were a lot of shares tonight that were very helpful. I'm glad Jess had a good experience this weekend that left her drained but also helped her with her healing. It's good to know she is finding ways to continue her healing along with all of us.

Jess allows everyone to share their feelings without judgement. I had a difficult situation and was allowed to vent my concerns and frustrations with no time limit. I get a lot out of this group and feel it is helping with my healing.

Project Return Peer Support Network

PRPSN offers peer-to-peer support to help individuals reach their personal goals, such as living independently, going to school, getting a job, having friends and enjoying life in the community, and advancing in their recovery. Each group is individualized and self-directed. Activities and curricula are created by the facilitators and group participants. While some groups direct conversations on specific recovery-based discussions, others focus on physical wellness and its connection to mental wellness, building socialization skills, and the exploration of varying coping methods ranging from arts and music to writing and much, much more!
