About this meeting
Wellness Wednesday meets 7 pm EST weekly. Did you know the way we eat, how much or how little we exercise and our habits can lead to low self-worth, fear of falling short of expectations, and emotional eating can all lead to anxiety, depression, and mood fluctuations. This group is not a "how to" group for diet or exercise expectations but how they play a significant role in how we mentality and physically feel. Join us for an hour of encouragement, confidential sharing and support without judgement concerning our personal relationship with our self.

About the host
Struggling? I’ve been there! I am Lori and have lived with Bi-Polar II, anxiety and panic attacks, depression and PTSD from trauma and toxic relationships most of my adult life. I also have members of my inner circle that also live with various life challenges. I live on both sides of the mental health journey. I received my certification from UNC-Chapel Hill in Peer Support in 2014. However, I have been listening to others and sharing my own experiences most of my life. I have rebuilt my life several times and explored the question of “who am I” and “why am and I here” multiple times through life. I try to live by the motto of "Living Life Forward"
Motivation for help
I am a certified HeyPeers facilitator and Peer Support saved my life. I have been successful in the recovery process and want to help others experiencing similar situations through understanding, respect, and empowerment. I offer one on one coaching and support. Contact me directly to schedule one on one sessions.

In Lori's group, the subject of isolation was raised — true isolation, in which people live alone, have no family or friends, little to no human contact, no one to call or text during difficult times, limited transportation and therefore limited means of engaging in activities outside the home, or suffer from anxiety and/or panic that keeps them at home. It was suggested that DBSA create a meeting space specifically for individuals dealing with isolation and its detrimental effects on mental health. This is a widespread problem and needs to be addressed.
