About the host
I've been a facilitator for Project Return since 2014.

Simple Zoom etiquette seemed to be lost in this meeting. I don’t expect to hear phones, alarms or TV’s blaring while people are speaking during groups without immediately rectifying that disruption, and it’s really frustrating to know that some people would disregard that consideration for others in any meeting

Very disorganized group leader. Religion was allowed to be discussed during the meeting.

It takes much too long to get through checkins because the facilitator talks a lot about themselves between each checkin. This could be a really impactful meeting but there’s rarely enough time for discussing our phobias when this happens

It felt really nice having the opportunity to help share the various tools and techniques that I use to qual anxiety with another peer who is struggling to get out of their house today. I love it when a facilitator exercises restraint and takes a step back, because it allows others in the group to give and get support from each other and that’s the true benefit of peer support groups. We all learn so much more when there’s diversity in sharing perspectives and lived experiences; because recovery is NOT a one size fits all solution 🥰

The facilitator does not watch the chat, and obviously doesn’t read these reviews. She spends most of the time checking people in and then talking about herself!

Toni did a good job managing the group and encouraging engagement.

I’m always left a little more distressed than I walked in with. For one reason or another, there’s a consistent lack of professionalism. Today it happened to be a number of things that I found intolerable; from people blurting out without raising hands and talking over one another, people being allowed to give “professional advice” and instructing on what someone “should” do, to the facilitator’s incessant need to have their cat’s constant appearance on camera! Today with the cat on their chest with bells jingling as people were speaking. It’s not only rude, but is a major distraction from group time and it takes away from what people are sharing; one share in particular was personally traumatic and really emotional. It’s disturbing how inappropriate when these things occur, and they happen far too often to excuse

Project Return Peer Support Network

PRPSN offers peer-to-peer support to help individuals reach their personal goals, such as living independently, going to school, getting a job, having friends and enjoying life in the community, and advancing in their recovery. Each group is individualized and self-directed. Activities and curricula are created by the facilitators and group participants. While some groups direct conversations on specific recovery-based discussions, others focus on physical wellness and its connection to mental wellness, building socialization skills, and the exploration of varying coping methods ranging from arts and music to writing and much, much more!
