About this meeting
CAREGIVER / FAMILY SUPPORT
Support groups for family members, caregivers, and loved ones of individuals with schizophrenia and psychosis-related disorders offer a compassionate and understanding environment to connect with others facing similar challenges. Through shared experiences and mutual support, participants provide encouragement, practical advice, and coping strategies, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

About the host
I am a mother of five sons and a caregiver to family members living with serious mental illness. My 24 year old son was diagnosed with schizophrenia six years ago after multiple episodes of psychosis and several hospitalizations. More recently, my fiancé’s son was diagnosed with Bipolar I disorder with psychotic episodes, giving me firsthand experience supporting loved ones through two serious mental illness journeys.
After retiring last year, I have dedicated much of my time to mental health advocacy, education, and caregiver support. I believe caregivers learn best from one another’s experiences, and I am passionate about helping families find support, connection, and hope.
