About this meeting
This is a peer-support space for real conversation, emotional honesty, and grounded support. Sometimes you know something feels off, but you can’t quite explain why. You may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, tired, unsettled, or just not quite like yourself. This group is for peers who need a calm place to reset. Whether you’re navigating bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, stress, loneliness, life changes, or just carrying more than usual, you’re welcome here.
We’ll start with a brief grounding moment, then move into steady peer support in a calm, respectful space. We’ll use “When You Feel Off but Can’t Explain Why” as a starting point for the conversation, but the topic is not meant to limit what you can share. If something else is weighing on you that day, there is room for that too.
You do not need to have the right words or even know exactly what you need.
This is not therapy, clinical care, or crisis support. I’m a Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS) with lived experience. My role is not to diagnose, assess, treat, or fix anyone. I’m here to help hold a steady, respectful space where people can share what they are carrying without feeling judged or rushed to solve everything.
No preparation is needed. You do not need a journal, workbook, or anything special to attend. Just come as you are from a private space where you feel comfortable participating.
Listening is always welcome. There is no pressure to speak before you are ready. Arriving near the start is encouraged so we can settle in together.
This group is not faith-based, but if faith or spirituality is part of your lived experience, you’re welcome to share that respectfully. People from all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome.
Crisis support
If you are struggling or experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.
If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
If calling 911 for a mental health crisis, ask for a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Officer.
If you’d like to stay connected outside the group, here’s my companion chat room: https://www.heypeers.com/chat_rooms/13512
About the host
I bring lived experience with bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, trauma, more than 30 years of recovery from substance use, divorce, grief, and fatherhood. I support adults who feel overwhelmed, worn down, lonely, or unsure what comes next. You do not have to clean up your story or find the right words before talking with me. I’m not here to diagnose you or tell you how to live. I’m here to listen, share what has helped me when it fits, and help you sort through what you are carrying one step at a time.
Motivation for help
I became a peer supporter because I remember what it felt like to need someone who could listen without trying to fix me. I have been the person walking into a support space unsure what to say and wondering whether anyone would understand. The people who made room for me showed me how much honest, human connection can matter. I want to offer that same kind of support to someone else, especially on the days when they feel alone or worn down.
