Meetings are facilitated by Certified Peer Specialist or Recovery Coaches, people with personal experience with your issue, who has recovered, and has received training to know how to help others. Peer Specialists are supervised by licensed clinicians. You will be able to learn more about the individuals who lead our meetings when you create your Hey Peers account.
There is never any pressure to talk or share. At check-in, you can simply say your first name (or any name you choose to remain anonymous) and indicate that you don't want to speak. One of our guidelines is that "it is okay not to share; much can be gained by just listening."
Fifteen minutes before your meeting is scheduled to begin you can join your meeting. Just log into your Hey Peers account and click on the “join” button. You will then be able to type in the name you’d like to use in that meeting, so you can be anonymous if you like. We just use first names. You can also optionally add a nickname for yourself in your profile, so that participants in the meetings will only know you by your nickname. We will not release any of your information or any comments you make in a meeting. No other identifying information is shared.
If you need help signing up or getting into you meeting you can call (888) 799-0907 ext. 2 or email us at email@example.com.
