My Recovery Story

I’ve navigated disabilities, chronic pain, mental health struggles, substance use, eating disorders, and trauma. Through these experiences and by connecting with others like myself, I’ve discovered effective coping strategies and nurtured my own well-being. As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, I offer empathy and insight from my personal journey, walking alongside others on their paths to healing. This role is more than a profession—it’s a meaningful purpose, driven by shared experiences and a deep passion for community care and connection.

My Motivation To Help

My motivation to help comes from my own journey through disabilities, chronic pain, mental health struggles, substance use, eating disorders, and trauma. These experiences have shaped my understanding and passion for supporting others. I believe, as the quote goes, “If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time; but if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.” I’m here because I know our paths to healing are intertwined. Let’s join forces, drawing on mutual support and shared experiences to empower and transform our lives together.
