About Erica
My name is Erica U, and I have been a peer support specialist for nearly twenty years. Throughout my career, I’ve supported individuals living with bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, night terrors, anxiety, and the challenges that come with caregiving and navigating mental health systems. I founded Erica's Healing Circle Support Groups because I believe deeply in community healing. Our signature group, Accepting Ourselves, is built around a simple but powerful truth: every person deserves acceptance exactly as they are. We welcome people without judgment — not based on weight, income, appearance, or intellect — but on their humanity.
My Recovery Story
Life is now full and meaningful. I rely on a combination of tools — talk therapy, medication, support groups, neurofeedback, walking my dog Poofy, self care, work, and volunteer service. I went from feeling hopeless to genuinely enjoying life, and I bring that lived resilience into every space I facilitate.
My Motivation To Help
My motivation comes from my own lived experience. There was a time when I was so depressed I could barely speak, and I struggled with suicidal ideation. I made a promise to myself that if I ever found my way out, I would turn that pain into purpose. Today, I help others find hope, strength, and the belief that they can get through their darkest moments. I did and they can too!
