About Tamera

Hello, I’m Tamie. I am an Indiana Certified Peer Support Professional, Spiritual Life Coach, Mindfulness Life Coach, Reiki Master, and Aromatherapist. More importantly, I am a woman in long-term recovery who understands firsthand how complicated, painful, and deeply human the healing journey can be. I believe we are all human. We all make mistakes. Some are small, and some alter the course of our lives. What matters most is what we choose to do next. Recovery, for me, has meant taking responsibility for my healing, learning healthier coping skills, practicing forgiveness, and choosing growth even when it felt impossible. Forgiveness—of myself and others—is still a practice. It isn’t always easy, but it has been essential to my peace. Mindfulness is at the heart of my work. To me, mindfulness means learning to be present without judgment—aware without becoming overwhelmed. Through my own recovery, I developed practical tools for emotional regulation, grounding, and self-awareness that I now share with others. I combine lived experience with holistic practices and evidence-based peer support principles to meet people where they are. I pursued higher education during my recovery journey and graduated on the Dean’s List, a milestone that represented stability and hope during a difficult chapter of my life. Today, I continue to prioritize my mental health, maintain healthy boundaries, and remain committed to personal growth. Recovery is not a destination; it is an ongoing commitment. As a Peer Support Professional, I do not see myself as someone who has all the answers. I see myself as someone who walks alongside others. I offer empathy without judgment, honesty without shame, and support rooted in real-life understanding. I know the weight of addiction, trauma, and grief—but I also know the strength that can rise from them. Healing is possible. Growth is possible. And no one should have to navigate recovery alone. I am honored to walk beside those who are ready to take their next step.

My Recovery Story

My life has included significant challenges—early exposure to substance use, family instability, trauma, mental health struggles, and profound grief. I live with bipolar disorder and have experienced hospitalization, multiple medication changes, navigated domestic abuse, and endured the heartbreaking loss of my eldest son to substance misuse. These experiences changed me, but they did not define my ending. They shaped my compassion, strengthened my resilience, and deepened my commitment to helping others find their own path forward.

My Motivation To Help

I am motivated by the belief that no one should have to navigate recovery alone. Having faced addiction, health challenges, trauma, and profound loss in my life, I understand how isolating and overwhelming the journey can feel. Those experiences shaped my deep compassion and strengthened my commitment to offering hope, understanding, and practical tools for healing. I am driven by the transformation I’ve witnessed, when people are met with empathy instead of judgment. Supporting others as they rediscover their strength and build meaningful lives is not just my profession; it is my purpose.
