Hi! I'm Cassian, a Certified Peer Support Specialist and the person behind Cassian Peer Support. I've spent a lot of my life being the person people turn to for support. Whether I'm spending time with friends, participating in activities, or just getting to know someone, I've always found myself naturally taking on that role. Over time, I've realized that some of the most meaningful opportunities for connection and support don't necessarily happen when we're sitting down specifically to talk about mental health. Sometimes they happen while we're playing a game, creating something together, learning something new, or just enjoying a shared experience. That's the idea behind Cassian Peer Support. I provide activity-based peer support through gaming, creative activities, and shared experiences. Some of my groups focus on building community and enjoying ourselves, while others use activities to explore communication, relationships, boundaries, identity, and personal growth. While I welcome people with a wide range of experiences, I'm particularly passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals and people living with OCD or Cluster B personality disorders, including borderline, narcissistic, histrionic, and antisocial personality disorders. These are communities that often experience significant misunderstanding and stigma, including within mental health spaces. I want to create opportunities for people to connect, explore their experiences, and participate in supportive environments without feeling like their diagnoses define who they are. My approach is informed by my own lived experiences with mental health and neurodivergence, as well as my professional experience providing peer support. I also offer individual peer support for people who prefer one-on-one connection, whether that's through conversation, a shared activity, or a combination of both. I don't believe support always has to look a certain way. You shouldn't have to spend every moment talking about your struggles to find connection, community, or something meaningful. Sometimes we can just enjoy ourselves, and that's valuable too.

Jess Hartwell is a Certified Peer Support Specialist who works with chronically ill individuals who are done waiting to be healthier to start making room for joy, connection and possibility. With a deep personal understanding of what it feels like to spend your days waiting for your body to feel like it did before, Jess offers compassionate support for those who are willing to dedicate some time each week to trying something new. Her approach is client-centered, creating a space where clients can feel seen and understood as they explore a more holistic way of living. Rather than encouraging them to do more, Jess walks alongside her clients as they reconnect with their bodies, explore their unique needs and limitations, and discover ways of living that honor their capacity. Rooted in the belief that being chronically ill doesn't have to mean putting your life on hold, her work is about helping people build a life where they care for themselves without guilt while making room for the people and experiences that matter most to them. Because you don't have to be well to live well.

I have been a certified peer for nearly 10 years. I have a Ph.D. in Psychology. I am a Certified Trauma Support Specialist and a Life Coach. I have also been working weekly with a sex abuse therapist and trainer for the past 6 years. I am also a Shamanic Healer. I love to help people psychologically and spiritually. My own mental health issues motivated me to seek personal help and to become a life-long learner in finding tools and techniques for people's well-being. Although I have quite a few credentials most of my learning has come from my own personal experiences in trying to maneuver through life's difficulties. I experienced deep agony from my traumas but still have found the strength to forge ahead and do the best I can to help myself and others. As I went into the deepest darkest corners of my existence I learned how to go through my own psychological difficulties and work on the soul level. Combining my peer, psychological and spiritual healing abilities I am able to work with people on their deepest issues.

I am a husband, father, and son who understands that life can feel overwhelming when you're trying to carry everything on your own. Through my own experiences, I've learned that having someone who truly listens, understands, and walks beside you can make all the difference. That's why I'm here—to provide the support, encouragement, and understanding that everyone deserves. As a Certified Peer Specialist and Certified Parent Peer Specialist, I bring both professional training and lived experience to the people I support. My personal journey has included experiences with depression, anxiety, medical trauma, and early childhood trauma. Along the way, my family and I have navigated the joys and challenges of raising two biological children, adopting a son with special needs, fostering a daughter with special needs, supporting a loved one living with Complex Trauma, and caring for my mother as she lives with Alzheimer's disease. These experiences have taught me resilience, strengthened my compassion, and reinforced my belief that no one should have to face life's challenges alone. My background in healthcare has also given me additional insight into supporting individuals and families with empathy, respect, and understanding. I believe every person's story is unique, and that healing and growth happen through connection, hope, and genuine support. Whether you're navigating mental health challenges, parenting, caregiving, trauma, or life's unexpected obstacles, you don't have to do it alone. My role isn't to tell you what to do—it's to meet you where you are, help you recognize your strengths, and walk alongside you as you move toward your goals. Recovery isn't about having all the answers—it's about having someone who believes in you while you discover your own. It would be an honor to walk alongside you on that journey.
